A report by the Central Auditing Organization (CAO) on state-financed medical treatment revealed flagrant violations in the implementation of medical programs. The 170-page report was submitted to the Public Prosecution last week.
A lack of internal scrutiny and grave breaches in implementation, according to the report, have led to monetary waste.
Officials from specialized medical councils, the report continued, and a number of MPs from the Shura Council and the People’s Assembly have abused this state-funded service and, as a result, have ill-served the program’s target beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecution is continuing its investigations. It's office summoned Health Ministry and six Public Funds Prosecution officials last week.
