Police slowly trickle back to Egyptian cities

Police slowly trickled back to cities across Egypt on Sunday evening following the 6th consecutive day of protests where hundreds of thousands of protesters defied an official 2PM curfew to protest in Egypt's streets well into the evening.

They demanded the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s regime with slogans such as “We won’t go, he will go” and “The people want to prosecute the president.”

Egypt’s government had declared that the police will return to all neighborhoods in all Egyptians cities, except for Tahrir Square in Cairo which has witnessed the largest number of protesters during the past six days of protests. Police are widely expected to refrain engaging with protesters as they seek to restore order to Egyptian cities.
