About LE2 billion have been allocated to infrastructure development projects in the governorates of North and South Sinai, in addition to significant changes in the field of land reclamation and crops cultivation, according to South Sinai Governor Major General Khalid Fouda.
He pointed out that the armed forces are currently cultivating 4,000 acres, 2,000 of which are located in Ras Sidr, while the rest are in Sahl al-Qaa in Mount Sinai.
In a statement on Monday, following a meeting with tribal chiefs in South Sinai, Fouda added that the Ministry of Agriculture has reclaimed 10,000 acres and drilled 75 wells for irrigation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Irrigation.
The ministry will embark on the reclamation 3,000 acres as a first stage of the project, and offer opportunities for investment in the field of agriculture.
