Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy said Egyptian-American relations are going through a “rocky period” after the U.S. partially froze assistance to Egypt.
In statements on Thursday, Fahmy said that whoever says that Egyptian-American ties are not going through a rough patch "is not being honest."
Washington decided to freeze assistance to Egypt a few days ago in response to developments that took place following the ouster of President Mohamed Morsy from power on 3 July.
