Efforts underway to set up unified defense team for martyrs’ families

A general secretariat was formed on Saturday to help pick a unified defense team for families of the martyrs of the 25 January revolution.

The secretariat was formed by the Hisham Mubarak Law Center's coordinating committee for the defense of the families of the martyrs.

The lawyers in the secretariat include Mohamed al-Damaty, Mohamed Tosson, Ahmed Saif al-Islam Hamad, Ahmed Fatawy, Khaled Abu Bakr, Khaled Abu Kreisha, Sayyed Fathy, Abdel Gawwad Ahmed, Aly Kamal, Essam Sultan, Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud.

The Freedoms Committee of the Lawyers Syndicate, meanwhile, has formed its own coordinating committee to communicate with any lawyer who would like to volunteer on behalf of the revolution's injured and families of the martyrs.

In a statement, the Freedoms Committee called for a meeting that will bring together all of the recruited and volunteer lawyers, in order to form a unified defense team.
