Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Hisham al-Naqib has called on Egyptians living abroad to legalize their status and residency in order to avoid legal action against them, in light of the circumstances taking place in different countries around the world.
Naqib said in press statements on Monday that many countries are tightening procedures and intensifying inspection campaigns on foreigners in order to verify the legality of their stay.
He also appealed to them to replace their old passports with the new automated passports which are in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization's regulations.
