Children of new Suez Canal inauguration concert not street children

Misr 2000 School published images of school students who participated in the concert of the Suez Canal inauguration on Thursday, thanking them for their performance after social networking sites users had alleged the concert was given by street children and dropouts.

The page administrator commented on the photos saying the Misr 2000 School was proud of its students who traveled to Ismailia Thursday to participate in a concert for the new Suez Canal inauguration before 6,000 foreign delegations.

A school official named Moshira Assem also published images of the children who participated in the concert while wearing the clothes they put on during the concert.

She commented on the photo saying: "Students of Nermin Ismail School (Misr 2000) always take part in great and major events."

Social networking website users as well as news websites circulated widely Thursday evening images of the children, saying they were street children and dropouts who belong to the Egypt Children Choir, which is under the supervision of maestro Selim Sahab.
