IED explodes, three others defused near Giza polling stations

An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in the vicinity of Ahmed Lotfy School polling station in Omraniya without causing injuries.

Investigators found a mobile phone SIM card near the scene, which suggests the bomb was detonated from remote.

Prosecutors requested the mobile phone service providers to identify the numbers that called that phone in the vicinity of the blast.

Security forces defused three other IEDs near polling stations in the Giza districts of Hawamdeya and Ossim.

Prosecutors are taking testimonies of eyewitnesses to identify the assailants.
