Acting president of Zagazig University, Ashraf al-Shihy on Sunday referred Mahmoud Ezzat, deputy leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and professor of medicine, and Mohamed al-Gawady, a professor of medicine, to an investigative committee for being absent from work without permission.
Shehy denied that they were being investigated for their political affiliations. “It is a purely administrative investigation,” he said.
