“More blood will be shed and more martyrs will fall in exchange for freedom, for we are facing a heartless enemy,” scriptwriter Wahid Hamed said in an interview on the Al-Hayat satellite TV channel on Thursday evening.
“The Muslim Brotherhood would be stupid if it believed it could fight the Egyptian army,” he said. “That is why it is fighting the Egyptian people.”
“The Salafis are more threatening to Egypt than the Brotherhood,” he added. “Have we forgotten that they said they would destroy statues because they are idols, and that Egyptians should not salute the flag?”
“They have publicly said that they are against Christians,” he said. “Yet they field Copts in the elections. I wonder why the Copts accept.”
He said the next parliamentary election will not be rigged. “It will show who the Egyptian people will choose. Would they choose the Brotherhood, the Salafists or the remnants of the Mubarak regime? God knows.”
