Wafd Party chief Al-Sayed al-Badawy, who is also head of the Al-Hayah TV satellite channels, was interrogated Wednesday by the State Funds Prosecution. He is accused of running campaign commercials on his channel last year without compensating Sigma, the firm behind the ads.
The investigation is being conducted by Prosecution chief Tareq Diaa Eddin and Attorney General Hamed Rashed.
They are drafting a technical report, which includes a complaint filed by Alaa al-Kahky, head of advertising company Media Line, which is also Sigma’s partner.
