The Six April Movement has rejected the Cabinet’s decision to mandate the interior minister to clear the Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Square sit-ins, saying “a security solution is a declaration of failure and disregard for blood.”
The movement sent a message on Facebook to the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, saying “you have failed and you were going to throw the country into the abyss. Now you send your supporters to lost battles so as to achieve your personal interests, regardless of the interests of the country. Stop shedding blood and leave.”
Information Minister Dorreya Sharaf Eddin announced that the government has decided to start taking the necessary measures to address the risks arising from the sit-ins, and assigned the interior minister to do so in conformity with the Constitution and the law.
