Presidential candidate Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said on Thursday that the Egyptian people have been patient for long, but the “next stage needs hard work to achieve the aspirations of the people.”
This came in a meeting with a Japanese government envoy to the Middle East currently visiting Egypt.
“Japan is a great nation that has overcome many difficulties,” he told the envoy. “And Egyptians endear the Japanese people.”
He also said the Middle East is at high risk and needs strong and fast help so as not to fall into the hands of extremists.
“I do not speak as a government official, but rather as an Egyptian citizen who is aware of the risks that surround the country,” he said.
