Egypt has reopened the Rafah land crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip on Wednesday after it was closed Tuesday for a national holiday marking Egypt’s 1952 Revolution.
An official source said that the crossing will remain opened for four hours to allow hospital patients and holders of residency permits and foreign passports to cross, based on an operational system in place since 28 May 2011. 894,510 people have passed through the crossing since then.
