Pro-MB list loses control over Doctor’s Syndicate elections

The Independence Current list of nominees won the midterm elections of Doctors Syndicate in Cairo and other governorates, surpassing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Doctors for Egypt list.
 
The election was conducted under full judicial supervision, for the first time in more than 20 years.
 
The Independence Current list won 11 seats in the general syndicate elections, out of the 12 seats up for election, giving the independent members the majority of seats in the 24-seat general council, in addition to the Syndicate head.
 
In the Syndicate’s Cairo Branch, the Independence Current won all the eight seats up for election, giving the current a majority of 14 seats, against only two for the Brotherhood list.
 
The current also won all seats in Marsa Matrouh and South Sinai, while the Brotherhood list won all seats in Fayoum, Qalubiya and Daqahliya .
