A police conscript was killed and an officer wounded on Friday afternoon in an armed attack on a checkpoint in the Fifth District of New Cairo, near the Mirage hotel.
Four gunmen in a Kia Cerato car opened fire at the checkpoint and drove away.
The officer was taken to the hospital, and the police are tracking down the gunmen.
