The total number of Egyptian returnees from Libya through Salloum Crossing reached 30,455 people, said head of Matruh Security Directorate Major General al-Enany Hamouda.
Salloum Crossing received over the past 24 hours 300 Egyptians including 220 legal migrants, and 80 others who had no legal documents, Hamouda added in a statement Wednesday.
Manpower and Immigration Minister Nahed al-Ashry announced by the end of February that between 500,000 to 800,000 Egyptians were working in Libya, mostly in farms and the service sector.
