Egypt, the world’s largest wheat importer, is eyeing the cultivation of 3.3 million feddans of wheat during 2015, Agriculture Minister Adel al-Beltagy said, adding that the state’s plans for land reclamation targets a total of one million feddans.
In statements on Tuesday, Beltagy revealed that the total lands cultivated in the country stand at 8.6 million, adding that the presidency had aimed to launch the one million feddan reclamation plan during the first quarter of 2015.
