Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi revealed the details of his phone call with Egypt’s football legend and Liverpool FC star Mohamed Salah, explaining the reason behind his exclusion from the Egyptian national team’s roster for the March camp.
During remarks to On Sport radio on Monday, Sobhi stated: “Salah informed me that he is suffering from a hematoma, and therefore he is gradually participating in training and matches with Liverpool FC.”
“Salah answers all phone calls, not just me. Salah deals with it in a very professional manner,” he added.
“We appreciate him as a major international star because he is diligent, and he must be treated in a special way, and in a way that Egypt’s right is not wasted as well.”
He continued: “Hossam Hassan (Egypt’s coach) insisted on participating in the friendly UAE tournament despite taking charge of the national team a few weeks ago.”
“I told Hossam Hassan the information, and we preferred that Mohamed Salah get enough time to fully recover, rather than him coming and the Egyptian national team not benefiting from him.”
“Hossam Hassan watches all the Egyptian players, and Salah certainly does not need to be examined or tested,” the minster concluded.
