Negotiations between Sinai tribal chiefs and kidnappers have resulted in the release of Abdel Karim Badawi, chief of the Aghwat tribe, four days after his disappearance.
Sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that Badawi was kidnapped from his store in Arish by members of another Sinai family after a land dispute.
Another security source said a kidnapped woman has also been returned to her family in Arish, but her relatives declined to give details about her return.
Aghwat members had protested outside the North Sinai Governorate demanding the return of their chief.
