Prosecutors have agreed to the request of Negad al-Baradie, Al-Masry Al-Youm lawyer, to assign a judge instead of a prosecutor to investigate the complaint filed by the president's office against Al-Masry Al-Youm journalist Yousri al-Badri.
The complaint, filed on behalf of President Mohamed Morsy, accuses Badri of “publishing false news likely to disturb the public peace and public security, and to influence the institution of the presidency."
The story at the heart of the complaint was first published on Al-Masry Al-Youm's website and said the president was scheduled to visit the Maadi Military Hospital. The story was later updated to say that the president's wife went to the hospital alone to visit a relative.

In support of Yousri, his interrogation was attended by head of the Freedoms Committee at the Journalists Syndicate Mohamed Abdel Quddus, deputy head of the syndicate Abeer al-Saadi, member of the legal committee at the syndicate Sayed Abou Zaid, Association for Freedom of Thought and Expression member Mahmoud Fateh al-Bab and Egyptian Democratic Party Legislative Committee Secretary Tareq al-Awady.
