ICT Min Probes Cooperation Opportunities With Serbia at WGS in Dubai

Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat and his Serbian counterpart Mihailo Jovanović reviewed Tuesday how to promote cooperation in the ICT industry.

During a meeting on the margins of the World Government Summit in Dubai, the UAE, on Tuesday 13/1/2024, the two ministers also discussed cooperation as well as knowledge-sharing opportunities in the field of digital game development, one of the advanced industries in Serbia, according to an official press release by the ICT ministry.

Meanwhile, Talaat highlighted efforts to boost Egypt’s competitiveness in cross-border ICT services, in pursuance of the Digital Egypt Strategy for Outsourcing Industry.

Talaat also touched on the various forms of support his ministry offers to ICT companies, which will help encourage Serbian companies to establish regional excellence centers in Egypt, including software development centers, to serve customers in the Middle East, Africa, and the United States.

The ministers concluded their meeting by agreeing on signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for promoting ICT cooperation between both countries.

Dubai is hosting the 11th edition of the World Governments Summit (WGS) on February 12-14, under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”.

This year’s edition will focus on shaping a better future for humanity and will highlight six main themes and 15 global forums exploring major global future trends and transformations through over 110 key dialogue and interactive sessions.

More than 200 global figures, including presidents, prime ministers, experts, thinkers, and future makers, are participating in the event.
