Heatwave today and tomorrow, black cloud for another 20 years

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned citizens of a sharp rise in temperatures to 38C, especially in Cairo, with an expected increase in humidity as well as slight rain falling on western regions, and fog settling on Alexandria and Matrouh.

The EMA also warned of sandstorms, and lack of visibility on roads.

The EMA’s head of analysis unit, Wahid Saudi, said the heat wave will end on Wednesday and normal temperatures will resume on Thursday and Friday.

Environment experts, on the other hand, stressed that the black cloud scarring the country’s skies, which is caused by farmers burning rice husks, will not disappear for another 20 years due to government inaction in confronting the problem.
