The government is hoping to expand the population area around residential areas throughout Egypt to 15 percent, up from a current 7 percent, according to Planning Minister Ashraf al-Araby.
It plans to achieve that target within the next fifteen years as part of a broader strategy for sustainable development, the minister said during an economic conference on Wednesday, organized by state-run newspaper Akhbar Al-Youm.
