Five policemen injured in train accident

Six were injured, including one police officer, four recruits and the train driver in a cargo train collision on way from Cairo to Salloum.

 

The accident occurred at Kafr al-Dawar city in Beheira governorate due to high speed.

Train traffic was halted as three railcars collided on the two ways of the railroad.

The railcars are being lifted to allow traffic flow.

The injured were transferred to hospital for treatment. A police report was filed.

Many train accidents have occured in Egypt over the past few years, causing the death of dozens. The accidents are mainly blamed on bad conditions of trains, reluctance in ensuring safety factors as well as human error.
