Egypt’s New Administrative Capital to be leading capital in Arab world: Qatar ambassador

The Qatari ambassador to Cairo Salem Mubarak al-Shafi said he anticipates the New Administrative Capital to become a leading capital in the Arab world.

Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, received the Qatari ambassador at his office at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

There they discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism and antiquities.

At the beginning of the meeting Issa reviewed the indicators of tourism from the various tourist markets in Egypt during the first half of 2023, especially those coming from Qatar, which are witnessing a remarkable increase.

Shafi on his end praised the development Egypt is witnessing, especially in the New Administrative Capital. He also reviewed Qatari investment projects in Egypt in the tourism sector.

Egypt and Qatar in late 2022 agreed on a set of investments and partnerships in Egypt totaling five billion dollars in the near future, within the framework of enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, during the meeting of the Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, and Minister of Finance of Qatar Ali bin Ahmed Al Kumari.
