Large numbers of Egyptians placed flowers and little dolls outside the Russian Embassy's walls, on Tuesday, for the victims of the Russian plane that crashed in the Sinai peninsula last week.
Nahla Denkul, the financial director of a German company in Egypt, said she came to offer her condolences to the Russian people because Russia occupies a special place in the hearts of Egyptians, pointing out that the incident would not affect Egyptian-Russian relations.
The Russian passenger plane crashed on Saturday, October 31 in a mountainous part of Egypt's Sinai peninsula, killing all on board.
The plane, carrying 214 Russian and three Ukranian passengers, as well as seven crew members, had taken off from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in south Sinai bound for Saint Petersburg. It lost contact with air traffic control 23 minutes later, AFP reported.
