EgyptAir first quarter sales highest in four years

EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Sameh Al-Hanafy said in a press statement on Wednesday that the first quarter of the 2014-2015 fiscal year achieved the highest sales for the company in four years.

He attributed this to the political and security stability in the country that had a positive impact on tourism to and from Egypt, particularly Egyptians expatriates spending the year-end holidays in Egypt and the pilgrimage season.

He also said the company offered new services to customers and reduced expenses in order to maximize revenues.

“We also assess the feasibility of our routes periodically to decide which should be discontinued,” he explained. “We also have a plan to restructure all our subsidiaries.”

Hanafy expected bookings to rise in Christmas and during the mid-term school holiday in January.
