Egypt-US joint navy exercise ‘Eagle Response 2018’ continues

Special Forces personnel from Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the United States of America are continuing activities for the joint Egyptian-US navy exercise titled ‘Eagle Response 2018’, which continues over several days in the territorial waters of the Red Sea, having started on Tuesday July 24.

During the past few days the forces were in the initial stages, with several activities having organized, including theoretical lectures, practical exercise, field skill techniques and combat tactics used by special forces, along with many shooting operations for different situations.

“Eagle Response 18” is an explosive ordinance disposal and diving exercise conducted by the US, Egypt and other participating nations to enhance interoperability and warfighting readiness, fortify military-to-military relationships and advance operational capabilities of all participating units.

Scheduled events include underwater detonation drills, unmanned underwater vehicle operations and anti-terrorism/force protection dives.

Eagle Response 2018 is part of Eagle Salute 2018, a surface exercise designed to enable participating nations to collaborate across a wider range of maritime security operations.
