A military source said on Monday that an army conscript was injured in his right shoulder by an improvised explosive device in Sinai and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The source added that the armed forces, in collaboration with the Interior Ministry, are conducting ongoing raids in Sinai to combat terrorist elements, especially in the cities of Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.
There have been increasing waves of deadly attacks by terrorist elements that have expanded their influence in Sinai against military and police forces since the overthrow of President Mohamed Morsy last year.
