On Tuesday, police arrested Anas Mohamed al-Beltagy, a student at Ain Shams University and son of detained Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed al-Beltagy.
He was arrested along with two others at an apartment in Nasr City.
The three allegedly possessed 22 birdshot bullets, and LE28000, and were arrested for charges of inciting violence at Ain Shams and Cairo universities.
Security sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that police received information that Beltagy and his two friends were in an apartment in Nasr City.
Former MP and Muslim Brotherhood leader, Mohamed al-Beltagy, said that he has been on a hunger strike since Saturday 21 December in response to being put in solitary confinement and not being allowed to receive visitors.
Beltagy is on trial for allegedly inciting violence after the ouster of President Mohamed Morsy in July.
