Chairman of the Wafd Party Al-Sayed al-Badawy decided on Wednesday to grant former presidential hopeful Amr Moussa the title of "Honorary President" of the party for life.
Wafd hailed Moussa in a statement as a descendent of "Wafdian family." His father was a prominent leader in Wafd Party and was close to Mustafa el-Nahhas Pasha, a Wafd prime minister under King Farouq and his father Fouad, and Fouad Serageddin Pasha, a former Wafd Party leader.
Wafd had endorsed Moussa in the first round of the presidential election in which he came in fifth.
