Clashes erupted on Sunday between Mansoura University Students and the Brotherhood youth minutes before a rally for Mohamed Morsy, the Brotherhood’s presidential candidate, and Khairat al-Shater, who was the group's candidate before the Presidential Elections Commission excluded him. The students chanted slogans against them, rejecting Morsy’s nomination.
The two sides beat each other, wounding dozens of students.
The students chased Morsy and Shater and threw empty water bottles at them. The latter followed them to a conference they were holding in a nearby hotel and continued to shout against them.
