Egyptian security services are trying to identify a suicide bomber who they say killed one Egyptian soldier and injured two more at border checkpoint no. 79 on Friday.
According to security sources, a group of Egyptian soldiers approached a young man they saw lying on the ground at the checkpoint, at which point he blew himself up, killing one of them and injuring two others.
The police only found the head of the bomber, who is reported to have had Bedouin features. They are currently trying to match it with pictures of terrorists in Sinai, and are planning to carry out DNA tests.
