The new government must change its policies, said presidential hopeful Mohamed ElBaradei, adding that merely replacing cabinet members will not help.
On Twitter, ElBaradei said, “The revolution's demands are clear. We need an empowered government and a change of policies.”
“A clear and transparent roadmap with specific milestones for the transitional period is an overdue priority for the new government,” he added.
Meanwhile, on Sunday the Union of Revolutionary Youth said it insists on removing all ministers in Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's government who belong to the now-disbanded National Democratic Party.
In a statement, the union called for banning NDP ministers from engaging in politics for at least five years due to their long-term involvement in political, economic and social corruption.
The union renewed calls for the formation of a panel to draft a constitution that will be the basis for elections.
It also called for delegating powers to the cabinet to achieve the goals of the revolution, purging the judiciary of corrupt judges and making it independent.
