Moussa pledges to review Egyptian agreements if elected

Arab League Secretary General and presidential candidate Amr Moussa on Tuesday vowed to review all of Egypt's international agreements if elected.

In a public conference to launch his campaign in Aswan Tuesday, Moussa said, “All agreements struck by Egypt will be reviewed, especially the one on exporting gas to Israel.”

Moussa, who is sometimes criticized for his affiliation to ousted President Hosni Mubarak's regime, will also make campaign stops in Luxor, Sohag, Qena, Assiut, Minya and Beni Suef.

“We have so much to do in order to organize life and transform from dictatorship to democracy,” Moussa said during the conference.

He pledged to build and open Egypt's economy, foster development, expand small and medium industries in cities and villages, fight poverty and unemployment and achieve social justice.

Moussa said he would focus on establishing a civil state that would guarantee the rights of all citizens and forbid sectarian conflicts.

He also highlighted the country’s prestige as an important factor in resolving water disputes between the Nile Basin and upstream countries. He said he would address the issue through legal solutions and restore Egypt's role in Africa and the world.
