Former president of the liberal opposition Wafd Party, Mahmoud Abaza joined protesters Thursday in Tahrir Square, demanding the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak.
Eye witnesses said that a number of Abaza's supporters accompanied him and roamed the square asking demonstrators to negotiate. Demonstrators refused and said that they will not give up their demands.
A party spokesman had earlier announced that after yesterday's violence, the party would not participate in negotiations with Mubarak's government.
