The aggregate index for local and foreign demand for Egyptian labor dropped according to a monthly report produced by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Information and Decision Support Center.
The index registered 149 points in November, down from 324 in October.
Local demand for Egyptian labor decreased in November registering 425 points compared to 555 in the preceding month. The foreign demand index also declined from 572 points in October to 225 in November.
Job opportunities have also been on a down slope with national employment bulletin job ads having slipped by 32.5 percent. While 9650 jobs were advertised in October, only 6500 job ads were posted in November.
Job opportunities advertised in national papers dropped by more than half, with 14,000 jobs advertised in October and only 6700 in November.
