Russia's offer of a US$50 million reward for information on those responsible for the Russian passenger jet bombing in Egypt, earlier in November, mirror the United States' rewards for reporting information about wanted figures.
The United States has announced many rewards over the years, such as the one offered for killing Al-Qaeda leaders Ossama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri, equal to $25 million each. There were also rewards of $20 million each for killing IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and al-Nusra Front leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani.
A reward of $10 million was announced for each of the following Taliban leaders: al-Mulla Omar, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and Yassin al-Suri, a senior Al-Qaeda financier based in Iran.
In 2014, the Unites States offered a $5 million reward for reporting north Syria IS leader Abu Omar al-Shishani and a $3 million reward for Tariq bin al-Tahar bin al-Falih, who reportedly masterminded hundreds of suicide bombings.
Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein also had a $25 million price on his head, which was offered in return for reporting information leading to his arrest.
