A police officer was killed and three conscripts were wounded on Tuesday morning in an IED explosion in North Sinai. The men were driving an armored vehicle in the Lahfan area south of Arish.
A security source in North Sinai said the officer is named Hamdy Mohamed Abbas and the three conscripts are Mostafa Nagi Youssef, Nashat Mohamed Hussein and Essam Mostafa Mohamed.
The three conscripts were taken to the Arish Military Hospital for treatment. Abbas's body was taken to the hospital morgue.
