In Monday’s episode of his “10 pm” program, Wael al-Ibrashi covered the story of Radwan Allam, a professor of the University of Tokyo who built a temple in the city of Al-Kanater that he called Hathour Land, which residents say is meant for worshiping the sun.
“I built it because I saw that the Egyptians of today do not deserve to be called descendants of the great ancient Egyptian civilization,” Allam told Ibrashi in his defense. “I wanted to familiarize them with the civilization that they know nothing of.”
“The temple is built on 365 square meters representing the days of the year,” he explained. “I built it for Egypt to shine again and for the Egyptians to know their real country, not that which its enemies made of it.”
“The ancient Egyptians used the sun as a symbol for God’s might, without which there would be no life on Earth,” he said.
