On Wednesday, Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi said that any attempt to disrupt the voting process during the upcoming presidential elections will be dealt with in a strict manner.
“Egyptians will prove to the world that they are able to choose their ruler," he added.
Sobhi also said that the Egyptian army is a patriotic one that works for Egypt without taking sides and is only concerned with the country’s interests.
“We are able to protect Egypt with our souls,” he said.
“You are responsible for securing Egyptians' will and protecting it,” he added, addressing the armed forces.
