The Cairo Criminal Court released on Sunday activist Alaa Abdel Fattah on a LE10,000 bail pending trial over charges of violating the protest law last November.
The court also postponed trial sessions to 6 April.
Alaa Abdel Fattah, one of the outstanding activists opposed to military leaderships, is facing, along with 24 other defendants, charges of protesting without prior approval from the Interior Ministry outside the Shura Council on 26 November during a demonstration condemning the trial of civilians by military courts.
The defendants are also accused of stealing a police officer’s walkie-talkie as well as possessing bladed weapons.
