Protesting Nile University students set up tents Wednesday outside the university's walls so they could attend lectures.
Nancy Mostafa, one of the protesting students, said three big tents had been erected after members of the teaching staff had agreed to give the lectures inside the tents in solidarity with their cause.
Students have been protesting the public prosecutor’s decision to hand the campus over to Nobel Laureate Ahmed Zewail to use for his project, the Zewail City of Science and Technology. The demonstrators say the university had paid LE62 million for the right to use the campus for 99 years, and demanded that they be allowed to use its laboratories and facilities.
