The Zamalek Sporting Club announced that it will resume matches in the Egyptian Premier League, following its recent forfeited match with rival Al-Ahly.
The club issued an official statement on Friday stating that “It has felt a response to its legitimate demands to develop the football system in Egypt, and the club’s board of directors has decided to return to complete the league matches, after the positive steps taken by the concerned authorities in response to the club’s decisive stance.”
The official spokesperson for the Zamalek Club, Ahmed Salem, said earlier on Friday that the club was aiming to move stagnant waters and further the Egyptian football system.
“The referees of the match between Zamalek and al-Masry were referred for investigation in implementation of the club’s request, and understandings were reached with the Egyptian Pro League (EPL) regarding the arrangement of league matches,” Salem added.
