Zahi Hawass anticipates a slew of major archaeological findings for 2025

Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass anticipates that 2025 will witness the discovery of Queen Nefertiti’s mummy, the announcement of how Tutankhamun died, the discovery of a new pyramid in Saqqara, and another discovery in Luxor on January 8.

During an interview with Ahmed Moussa’s TV show “Ala Massoulity” (By My Responsibility) on Sada al-Balad TV channel on Sunday, Hawass also predicted that the Grand Egyptian Museum will be opened during 2025 in April, May or June.

According to Hawass, 2025 will be a year that draws the world to Egypt.

“The opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum needs to be announced six months before the event in order to prepare well for this huge event, demanding the creation of “tableaux”,” he said, thanking everyone who established the museum, headed by Minister Farouk Hosni, for their efforts.

Hawass continued: “If Tutankhamun’s mask traveled to be displayed abroad, it would bring in millions of dollars, because it is a piece that is unmatched by any other antiquities in the world.”

“The establishment of the museum cost about two billion dollars and will bring in billions after the opening,” he concluded.
