Author Salwa al-Lubany was at the 46th Cairo International Book Fair on Sunday evening signing the second edition of her book, “You think, therefore you are an infidel”.
The book discusses the problems faced by Egyptian and Arab intellectuals in current times. Censorship is the main theme represented in the work and such restriction is perceived as a major factor in discouraging creativity and freedom of expression in light of the growing presence of religious institutions, extremism and intellectual terrorism.
Instead of serving as a declaration of support for intellectuals, however, this edition of the book has triggered extremists' wrath, leaving intellectuals crushed under its weight.
