The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued a statement on Friday announcing the new working hours for banks operating in the Egyptian market during the holy month of Ramadan, which is expected to begin on Monday.
The CBE explained that the official working hours for employees during Ramadan will start from nine am to two pm instead of eight am to four pm.
The working hours of banks for the customers will now be from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm instead of 8:30 am to three pm.
The Egyptian banking sector includes 38 banks with a number of branches reaching 6,000 branches spread throughout the country.
