In a strange tale, and even stranger casting decision, Joseph Fiennes has confirmed that he'll be playing the King of Pop in a British film that recreates a fabled post 9/11 road trip between Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando.
Based on a 2011 Vanity Fair story that has been disputed, the trio reportedly set off from New York to Ohio in a rental car in an effort to return to California following the terror attacks which canceled all flights.
In the film, Brian Cox will play Brando and "Grease" star Stockard Channing will play Liz Taylor.
"It's a lovely thing about Michael's relationship with Liz Taylor and Marlon Brando. It's a fun, light-hearted tongue in cheek road trip of what celebrity of that kind is like," Fiennes said in a Wenn.com interview.
"But also it's rather beautiful and poignant about their relationships as well."
Apparently, the trip took a lot longer as Brando insisted they stop often at roadside fast-food pits.
