A member of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, Hossam Hazaa announced that the average daily spending of Gulf tourists reaches US$300, exceeding American tourists who pay $200.

Hazaa said that the average daily spending of Chinese tourists is $120, including the number of tourist nights and the price of a night in the hotel where they stay.

Summer this year was one of the most important tourist seasons, he added, as the country achieved record numbers in the first six months of 2024 with about seven million tourists and a total of 70 million tourist nights – despite the geopolitical tensions within the region.

Hazza noted that Egypt includes all attractive tourist components, and assured that the state working to increase tourism marketing and facilitate procedures for Egyptian and foreign investors to invest in hotels in Egypt.

He stressed that this comes through the support of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Cabinet into the tourism sector with LE50 billion to expand the establishment of hotel rooms to accommodate the targeted increase of 30 million tourists by 2028.

Hazza expects the next tourist season in 2025 to exceed 18 million tourists.
